Steven Mifsud, Direct Access’ Director, made a keynote speech at the Future Landscape and Playspaces conference at the Westin, Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi City Municipality and the Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities aim to build a sustainable, green and innovative city in line with the 2030 vision.
Steven’s speech focused on how inclusive landscapes benefits everyone not just wheelchair users. As we are living in an aging society this creates challenges in that more people require accessible landscapes without the need for assistance. The importance of sensory gardens was illustrated particularly for visually impaired or autistic people.
