“It has been an amazing period for us at Direct Access since we launched,” said Steven Mifsud, Director. “In 2017 Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum set out how he wanted Dubai to be an accessible city for People of Determination by 2020. We launched Direct Access to help organisations achieve that vision. Our Access Appraisal work reviews the design and specifications for new builds to ensure accessibility is built in from the start. Our Access and Adaptations Audits review established premises and sets out recommendations for access improvements.”
“Our client base is diverse ranging from Nando’s to the British Embassy. Our biggest is Expo 2020 Dubai where we are advising on the accessibility of the public realm and thematic areas.”
The results will be announced at an awards ceremony in DIFC this September.Back to News
