Direct Access’ Head of Engagement Steve Dering was invited to present at the inaugural Dubai Accessible Tourism International summit under the Patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
Steve detailed how to map customer journeys to understand the different touch points where information about access needs to be shared with people of determination. This enables people of determination to make decisions about visiting and what/when to book. When gaps are identified it makes it easier to address those to create a seamless experience.
This can range from initially thinking about going somewhere – how do people access information about where they want to go and its level of accessibility? When they decide to go, how do they get tickets – are there discounts? What about companions?
Travel arrangements – there is no point having the most accessible building if people cannot get there. This is about working with transportation providers and local government to ensure the right infrastructure is in place.Back to News
